"Self improvement" is complete horse shit

Sir Isaac Newton agrees with me

Western culture loves this idea of "self-improvement".

I fucking despise it.

The trendy, modernized, instagrammable perspective of self-improvement that the masses are being fed today is a complete disgrace.

There are countless books, shows, documentaries, podcasts, articles, gurus and communities that have dedicated themselves to preying on desperate trend-chasers, promising a life of self-love, abundance and happiness.

Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with people trying to improve their lives…

In fact, I love it when people try to improve their lives.

The problem I have is with the perspective that most people carry on how life-improvement works.

"My BEST productivity tips to 53.7x your output"

"How to lose 50kg in 6 days without dieting OR exercising"

"The SECRET to infinite sex, wisdom and physical strength"

"How to INSTANTLY become the most confident man there ever was"

I know that most of you aren't falling for shit this extreme, but there is an overarching misconception about "self-improvement" that I’d like to address:

We're lead to believe that improving our lives is a simple task that can be done quickly with gimmicks, tricks and how-to lists.

People think they can lose weight and get fit within weeks by watching a video or buying a blender.

They're convinced that they can learn to become confident and attractive by reading a 200-page book and getting a haircut.

They believe that they can start an online business and begin make 10k within three months without any previous experience.

That's nothing more than mental masturbation.

Watching (most of) these "Self-help" videos and reading (most of) these books is just your way of jerking off your brain, getting cheap releases of dopamine, making you feel good about yourself for a couple of minutes and ultimately, leaving you feeling like a soggy napkin.

Flimsy, useless and disgusting.

If you take anything away from this letter, please take this:

There are no "hacks".

There are no shortcuts.

If you have a serious problem in your life, you need a serious solution in order to solve it.

If you try to solve a serious problem with a gimmick of a solution, you're going to get what you deserve...

Gimmicky results and the overwhelming feeling of being a soggy napkin.

I guarantee it.

How you will feel ^

You see my friends, there is a law that governs the entire universe.

It controls me, it controls you, it controls gravity, it controls our dopamine levels, it controls catastrophic natural disasters, it controls the stock markets, it controls the fucking sun.

It controls Everything (with a capital E).

There is no escape from it.

It's the law of cause and effect.

And it is absolutely beautiful.

"Every cause has its effect; every effect has its cause; everything happens according to law; chance is but a name for law not recognized; there are many planes of causation, but nothing escapes the law." - The Kybalion

The Kybalion

I want you to imagine my good friend Sir Isaac Newton, watching over you from his golden throne up in heaven.

And imagine that Isaac gets to decide what you get in life, based on your actions.

"For every action there's an equal and opposite reaction, my friend" he says.

He watches everything you do, he hears all of your dirty little thoughts.

There's nothing you can do to escape his providential overseeing…

He governs everything.

Let's say you're desperate to get some quick money, so you start looking at easy ways to start a business online.

No harm in that, right?

You think about SMMA, drop shipping, affiliate marketing, OnlyFans, freelancing, etc...

You pick a business model and you spend your time looking for the shortest cuts you can find to start pulling in that sweet, sweet cash.

You take a half-assed approach to business.

What does good ol' Isaac give you in return?

Half-assed results.

If you want to achieve extraordinary results in any area within your life, you're going to have to put in extraordinary work to get them.

When Isaac is up there, dishing out effects to us flimsy humans down on earth, he's making sure that the only ones who get the results they want, are the ones who actually deserve them.

It's as simple as that...

You don't get what you want, you get what you deserve.

And you certainly are not the "special one" who can cheat the ultimate governing power of the universe.

Nobody is that special.

So what do you need to do?

Take a good, long look at the life that you want to live.

Understand that the reason you’re not living this life is because you don’t yet deserve to live this life.

You haven’t put in enough fucking work to deserve it.

You can blame the universe, your parents, your boss, your broken leg or “bad luck” if you want.

But unfortunately, putting the blame on anything but yourself won’t get you anywhere.

By blaming the external world, you’re putting your life in the hands of something that’s out of your control.

If you don’t have control over your life, you’re completely fucked.

Go off, take radical responsibility for your current situation, find out what you need to do to get closer to your goals and take action.

Forget about the goal itself and focus all of your energy on taking the actions required to achieve it.

You can’t control when you’ll achieve your goal.

Only the universe can control that.

Only Sir Isaac Newton can control that.

You can only do your best to prove to him that you deserve the life you want.

That's the secret hack to life ;)

I hope you enjoyed,

Louis
